Childrens literature is an important resource for the Chineseeducation in primary schools. Since the eighth Basic EducationCurriculum Reform, more and more people pay attention to theimportance of childrens literature to the Chinese education in primaryschools. Primary Chinese textbooks contains childrens literature indifferent degrees. This paper focused on PEP primary Chinese textbook,as an example to study childrens literature in the Chinese textbooks.The first chapter outlined and analyzed the table of contents,author, rewrite and the other conditions of the childrens literature in thePEP Chinese textbooks.The second chapter based on the text, combined with the theoryof art, education, psychology to analyze the value of childrensliterature in the Chinese textbooks, mainly from four aspects such as theliterature-based value, individual value, social value and languagesubject value to discourse. And exploring its own value and lack. Theprimary school Chinese textbook childrens literature-based is weak, theaesthetic disinterestedness is not obvious, the main aesthetic image isthe type image. The individual value of childrens literature selectedarticles has the value of riching imagination space, providing indirectexperience, providing the value of reading fun, but development ofnarrative thinking is deficient. The social value of childrens literatureselected articles has the value of virtue, training scientific quality andcultivating the spirit of cooperation and communication ability. Thelanguage subject value has the value of developing language ability,driving write ability, but promoting reading value is not enough.The third chapter considered childrens literature chosen texts inthe primary Chinese textbooks, and made two suggestions on it.Suggestions on teaching childrens literature chosen texts: Chinese teachers in primary school should improve childrens literature literacy;teachers ues divergent thinking to interpret the text, and combine withthe students situation to design teaching programs; teachersappropriate cover the text defects in teaching childrens literature.Suggestions on compiling childrens literature chosen texts: compilingand rewriting childrens literature carefully; balancing the distribution ofdifferent genres of childrens literature in different grades of Chinesetextbooks in the primary; improving the interesting and philosophical inchildrens literature chosen texts.
