Nowadays, a great number of middle schools have taken teachers’ conducting education scientific research as a key link in promoting teaching practice and improving teacher’s professional level. Education scientific research ability is not only the professional capability possessed by modern middle school geography teachers, but also the important performance of mature teachers in contemporary society. Thus, it is of great reality and necessity to adopt concrete and effective measures to cultivate education scientific ability among geography teachers.Part One is the review of background and theory, which mainly illustrates the research status of education scientific research ability both at home and abroad, as well as the purpose, meaning and methods of the research; and, defines the related concept of education scientific research.Part Two is investigation and results analysis, which displays the questionnaire survey and interview results, and points out the main problems existing in the education scientific research among current middle school teachers. Research finds several problems such as geography teachers’education scientific ability lags behind its awareness, the overall education scientific ability is weak, etc.Part Three proposes the ways to cultivate education scientific research ability, which is the main content of the article. The training methods of geography teachers’education scientific research ability is studied systematically from the teachers’own perspective, combing with survey data and current achievement of education theory. Four aspects can be enhanced from the teachers’perspective:firstly, geography teachers shall have the basic theoretical attainment of education scientific research, which is the basis and promise to conduct education scientific research; secondly, they shall possess the creative ability of education scientific research, for only creative scientific research can get rid of repetitious work and realize the real value and meaning of scientific research; thirdly, they shall improve the practice of education scientific research. Teachers are responsible for teaching practice, which is also the exact stage for education scientific research, and shall couple scientific research with teaching; last but not least, they shall conduct active reflection of education scientific research. Teaching is a cause instead of a breadwinning means; geography teachers shall improve themselves through reflection and allow scientific research to boost teaching development.Part Four is conclusion that summarizes the main contents of the article, and puts forward the thinking for further research. Cultivating education scientific research ability among geography teachers is a long-term and continuous process, during which a lot of exploration and improvements are demanded.
