The low utilization of project information is one of the causes for construction productivity falling behind. The out dated model of traditional information management makes a series of problems and defects through the period of transferring and sharing project information, therefore, it is important to improve the utilization and the level of management of information through life cycle of construction project.As China gradually increase the level of information, when faced with large-scale complex projects, it is bound to propose and use a more advanced and efficiency way to manage information, so as to improve the efficiency of construction projects. In this paper, based on large-scale complex project, at the same time, BIM serves as a technical support, I put forward and build the information management system framework through project’s whole life period and the specific implementation methods.(1) First of all, analyzing the information interoperability under BIM environment, then summarized the relevant elements of information exchange based on the IFC standards. Then analyzing the complexity of today’s large-scale construction projects, further explore the complexity and importance of large-scale projects in information management. In addition, summed up the current problem of information management in construction industry in our country and the reasons of the problems, and summarizes the value of BIM in information management and application status, in theory, technology and application level, provide support for building information framework.(2) On the basis of the previous theory, build the BIM-based information management framework in large-scale complex project. the ultimate goal of the information management frame is to improve sharing and integration problems in the conventional construction project information, thereby improving project information in large-scale complex projects in transferring and sharing period, thus achieving the goal of improving production efficiency. In specific methods, ranging from the host-guest relations, information management systems business process design, software and hardware design.(3) Finally, introducing Nanjing Youth Olympic Sports Park project as a case study to analyze the specific BIM application and implementation measures in all phases of the project life cycle management of information, and to review and summarize the BIM bring this project in the Project Information Management Advantage. Research of this paper can effectively improve and avoid the problems in information loss and communication existing in the large-scale, complex engineering projects, and provide theoretical and technical support for information management in the whole life period of project, at the same time, it can be reference for future large-scale complex project in information management.
