An Analysis Of Translation Strategy Of Japanese Long Sentences

As is known to all, compared with Chinese, Japanese sentences are usually longer. Long sentences are common in Japanese articles. Hence, it is difficult to translate a Japanese sentence with one Chinese sentence only. Especially long sentences are used more frequently in a novel. The author often writes a couple of messages in a sentence so as to make the article elegant and concise, which makes the translation of a novel more difficult.This paper studies the processing skills of Japanese long sentences translation through the analysis of the translation of Botchan, and with the translation of Botchan, analyzes the composition of long sentences and focuses on the processing skill of long sentences translation. Then, it sums up the translation practice and draws lessons from it. Firstly, it is necessary to know about Botchan and Natsume Soseki, which is the important research subject. Secondly, it is important to analyze how the long sentences are composed. Thirdly, it is beneficial for the author to analyze the translation skills of long sentences in practice. Fourth, the author sums up her notions about translating long sentences.This paper mainly analyzes how to deal with the translation of Japanese long sentences, so the research focus is on the processing skills of long sentences translation.
