| The translation material extracts from The Detailed Investigation Report of Lingnan Iron Ore In Ruoqiang County of Xinjiang Province. It contains fifty-two sections in ten chapters, in which, the report gives a detailed description about the exploring items’ origin, the exploration processing, the exploration method, the technical requirements and field exploration quality. The translation of the report is a team work of the present author(from chapter 7 to chapter 8) and the other translators. The translation is original, therefore, it boosts to strengthen the exchange between China and the West about the geological exploring and mining, as well as the promotion in efficiency of resource extraction and economic benefits.The detailed process of translating is written down in this paper:Firstly, the source and content of text, and the significance of translation project are simply described.Secondly, the process of translating—preparation, preliminary translation, amending and final transcript.Thirdly, the translation difficulties and their solutions in the process of translating are elaborated, such as the comprehension and translation of glossary and long sentences.Finally, the present author’s experiences and lessons gained in translating the paper are expressed. |
