Research On Employment Support Of The Urban Disabled People

Employment of the disabled is priority of the work of the disabled. Employment can not only make the disabled earn their own livings, but also help them achieve their own value and return to mainstream of the society. Meanwhile, there is an important practical significance in protecting the employment right of the disabled, improving people’s livelihood, promoting social equity and justice, enabling disabled people to share the fruits of reform and development of society by promoting employment for the disabled actively. With the rapid development of market economy and social transformation, the disabled people are in the weak position in the social competition for their physical defects, social rejection, low educational level and weakness in social capital. To solve the problem of the employment of the disabled, a disabled employment support system that include government, disabled federation, communities, social work service organizations has to be constructed.In this thesis, I applied for the questionnaire survey method and literature research method and made an investigation on the employment support system of the disabled people. The investigation was conducted in the community of XHY in Baoding, Hebei province. In the first chapter of the thesis I discussed the background, significance, methods and relevant literature of this research. In the second chapter of the thesis I elaborate the theory about the employment of the disabled people, which provided angles of view and ideas. In the third chapter I made a brief introduction and study on the employment situation, employment models, employment channels and the support system of urban employment of the disabled people. The forth chapter is the focus. In this chapter, I made a detailed investigation and verification on the problems of the basic employment status, employment situation, employment demand and the support system of employment. I found that there are a lot of problems: low employment rate and low satisfaction degree of the disabled people in community; demand of employment can not be met and expect to work in welfare enterprises can not be satisfied; the narrow channels of employment of the disabled. In the fifth chapter I provided some suggestions to perfect the system of social support of the disabled from every point of view. In the sixth chapter I summarized some defects of my research.
