Study On The Suzhou E-government Development Under The Background Of Service-Oriented Government Construction

With the rapid development of Chinese economic and society, citizens’ interest demands are becoming more and more diversified which brings much more severe challenges to the Chinese government. In order to adapt to the new normal, the Chinese government must speed up reform, and continuously accelerate the innovation of government functions and system mechanisms. We must further promote the construction of the service-oriented government so as to satisfy the new public service need of the people.Suzhou is at the frontier of Chinese economic development which not only promotes the innovation of social governance but also puts forward higher requirement to the government service. With the mushroom development of the internet and information technology, informatization construction is getting more and more attention.As an important part of informatization construction, e-government is also effectively carried out worldwide. The construction of e-government is significant and profound for service-oriented government. The development of e-government can speed up the transformation of government functions, promote the administrative efficiency and improve the quality of public service, thereby strengthen social management, promote the orderly development of society, increase the economic development level and realize the enhancement of comprehensive national strength. In recent years, Suzhou has begun the practices of e-government.On the basis of studying relevant literatures from home and abroad, this article studies the current situation of e-government construction in Suzhou and analyzes the problems and causes found in the development process in detail. Referring to the experiences of e-government construction in developed countries, I find the way tosolve these problems from the aspects such as a sound management system,establishment of service concept, strengthening cultivation of talents and implementation of network security. I sincerely hope these measures can be helpful for the e-government construction in Suzhou, and accelerate the pace of the service-oriented government development in Suzhou.
