Classical Chinese is a difficulty of high school Chinese teaching. It has long history, sothat there is a great difference between the system of the Classical Chinese and the modernChinese, such as the pronunciation, the meaning and the handwriting. Learning ClassicalChinese is just like learning a new language. Therefore, to master enough vocabulary,especially the countless and complex notional words, is the important point to learn ClassicalChinese well. Only by mastering enough notional words, can the students understandClassical Chinese well and improve the students’ reading abilities of Classical Chinese. Butthe present situation of Classical Chinese teaching is not optimistic and emerges aninefficiency. This article studies the teaching strategy of high school Classical Chinesenotional words in the background of the new curriculum reformation. In the study, the authormainly use the questionnaire survey and interview method to get to know the present teachingsituation of high school Classical Chinese notional words, and analyze the reason of itsinefficiency, discover a new teaching method by combining the author’s own teachingexperience.This article centers on high school Classical Chinese notional words teaching strategy,and divides into three parts. The first part is introduction, and it is mainly about study object,study scope, the significant of Classical Chinese notional words teaching and the researchpresent situation of Classical Chinese notional words in high school. The second part mainlyanalyzes the reason of inefficiency in high school Classical Chinese notional words teaching.This part mainly uses questionnaire survey and interview method to investigate300studentsand20high school Chinese teachers, in order to have a good knowledge of the inefficiency inpresent high school Classical Chinese notional words teaching. The reason can divide into5parts, they are the students’ learning is lack of systematicness, the teaching method is toosimplistic, the Classical Chinese notional words teaching has a bias towards to the meaning ofthe word not the origin of the words, the Classical Chinese notional words teaching is lack ofsystematicness, the Classical Chinese notional words teaching breaks away from daily life andculture. The third part is about high school Classical Chinese notional words teaching strategy. Itdiscusses the Classical Chinese notional words teaching strategy in aspects of the meanings ofwords, the flexible use of the words, and the interchangeable words. In other words, the thirdpart is about what to teach, how to teach, where to start and so on. The teaching strategy ofthe meanings words stresses on the its development and transformation. Besides, characterpattern, playfulness and systematicness of the meanings of words are used to discusses theteaching method of the meanings of words. About the flexible use of the words, the authormainly forms a kind of teaching method by the following aspect, getting clear the relationshipbetween the flexible word, judge the flexible words by the sentences, compare the flexiblewords of ancient and modern. As to the Chinese characters, it mainly talks about thedifference between interchangeable words, the ancient and modern words, and variants, andmemorizing these words by ancient poets and idiom. In this part, the author rearranges theClassical Chinese note in New curriculum PEP high school Chinese Compulsory teachingmaterial. It involves interchangeable words, the ancient and modern words, and variants.There is a teaching example which briefly explain the teaching procedure of this kind ofteaching method, in part three to provide a references for educators.
