This thesis summarizes the significance of study on career education in Ordinary HighSchool and offers the definitions of certain major terms, such as occupation, career and careereducation. In addition, it analyzes the variety stages of career developmental theory andexplores the current status of high school career education development in America, Japan,Canada and other countries. This thesis studies on exploring the present situation of careereducation in chemistry teaching process in Ordinary High School in Linhai City, ZhejiangProvince. After the in-depth analysis, certain major conclusions are drawn as following:1)The current situation of career education development in Ordinary High School is worrying;2)High school students have a strong demand for career education with chemistry teaching;3)High school students’ self-cognition and their understanding of outside world is far fromenough. According to the above conclusions, the author puts forward some suggestions andoffers some fragments of teaching designs for giving light to the implement of careereducation in Ordinary High School Chemistry teaching.
