It is emphasized that the physics is closely related to daily life, all through the curriculum standards ofphysical science in the nine-year compulsory education. There is always a basic conception in physicalcurriculum standards that is "physics comes from life, and returns to the life ". Under the guidance of thisconcept, Life-oriented Teaching comes into being, occupies a very important position of physical teachingin junior middle school, and then has an important influence on the students’ ability, which is how to useeffectively the physical knowledge to solve problems in social daily life. Due to the so many deficiencies inthe application of the Life-oriented Teaching in junior middle school, this study aims to research the currentapplication status of the Life-oriented Teaching and the influencing factors of that in junior middle school.Firstly, this study reviews a large number of relevant documents,defines the concept of Life-orientedTeaching,classifies the physical teaching resources of life and expounds the necessity of research.Then, a questionnaire about the current application status of Life-oriented Teaching has been draw upon the basis of relevant theory.Then talk about some of typical problems with teachers.Survey resultshows that:(1)Junior middle school teachers relatively understand the necessity of Life-oriented Teaching andhighly approve its effect and value;(2)The application environment of Life-oriented Teaching is limited. For example, the schools andteachers are short of abundant resources of Life-oriented Teaching;(3)Junior middle school physics teachers are poorly prepared for Life-oriented Teaching shown indetail as their poor understanding of corresponding content in the teaching material;(4)The application of Life-oriented Teaching in class is less than ideal;(5)Junior middle school physics teachers have a strong utilitarian view of Life-oriented Teaching;Most teachers pay more attention to the importance of Life-oriented Teaching in learning than inliving and applying;(6)Factors affecting implementation of Life-oriented Teaching in physics mainly are teacher’s attitude,teacher’s ability, teaching time, the evaluating system of teachers and students. Finally, a series of suggestions have been put forward based on the survey result and theory:(1)Teachers are supposed to make full use of the life-related materials in textbooks as well as try toimprove their professional quality and scientific literacy.;(2)Middle schools should have some evaluating systems of teachers, adopt several strategies topromote the development of teachers’ professional quality and provide various curriculum resources forphysics teaching.
