With the increasingly extensive use of the information in our society, the development of information technology application in education is constantly deepening, having a profound impact on the development and reform of primary education. It has been put forward clearly in the "New Curriculum Standard" that information technology and curriculum should be integrated properly, which has become a breakthrough in educational reform.This paper mainly focuses on the "application of information technology in rural primary school mathematics teaching" and takes the rural primary schools as research object. It is evidenced that information technology is widely applied in rural primary school mathematics teaching, through detailed surveys and interviews among the rural primary school mathematics teachers and students. Furthermore, the "New Curriculum Standard" has requirements on the integration between information technology and curriculum content. Therefore, mathematics education in primary schools has made some progress in response to the contemporary requirements on information technology. However, there are still many problems in the daily teaching practice. Therefore, school teachers, educational institutes and even the society, should make their contribution to the hardware construction. In addition, the information literacy should be enhanced among teachers by training. Teachers are required to improve their professional competence and grasp information technology, Information and technology application in rural primary school mathematics teaching is to be improved from both hardware and software. This study starts with the analysis of information technology and curriculum integration and presents the core concepts and theoretical basis on the basis of the research on the theories on curriculum integration.This paper researches the application of information technology in rural primary school mathematics teaching from the two aspects of teachers and students as well as brings about and analyzes the problems in application of the information technology in rural primary school mathematics teaching after the analysis of the survey data. At last, it not only comes up with some basic strategies to solve the problems, but also gives a light on the application of information technology in rural primary school mathematics teaching.
