Statistics on the exam population of high school students show that most of those who gain outstanding grades in their mathematics also perform excellent job in their physics study, and it is also true when the words "mathematics" and "physics" are replaced by each other; among those who own advantages in their liberal arts most are always relatively weak in their physics; while the majority of those who have got outstanding achievement in their Chinese and foreign language are in the middle level with their physic, of whom some even show instability performances. The statistical may lead to the following conjecture:Students’ discipline thinking tendency may have effects on their thinking ability of physics. In order to study whether interdisciplinary thinking tendency has influence on the students’ ability of physical thinking, the author of this essay selected his study objects from the students of Senior Grade 1 and Grade 2 who have outstanding performance of each subject in our school according to the introduction of their head teachers or subject teachers, who are general classified into seven types of different thinking tendencies based on their advantage subjects or disciplines—those with outstanding achievements in their liberal arts subjects are classified as "Liberal arts type", similarly, "Chinese type" refers to those with outstanding grades in their Chinese subject. Other types include "English type", "Mathematics type", "Physics type", "Physics-Chemistry type " and "Physics-Mathematics type". Questionnaire and relative tests have been carried out for the purpose of finding each of these seven types of students’ physics learning characteristics. Here is a brief analysis of the result of these tests and the records of the interviews that followed: Of the above mentioned seven types students, Liberal arts type usually tend to study physics with a mechanical memory method, which always means the biggest disadvantage of a poor understanding of concepts and laws of physics subject alongside with unclear process of physics problems analyzing; Chinese type usually end up misunderstanding physics concepts for they tend to extend their consistence because of their habits from literature hyperbole; English type usually prone to over-divergently-thinking, hence to be easily influenced by the interference of their thinking tendency; mathematics type usually tend to easily overlook the physics conditions for having formed the habit of establishing physics models using mathematical methods, because their mastery of mathematical knowledge seem to be showing negative induction on their understanding of the physics concepts being learned, and they are always stuck to their mathematical reasoning as their problem-solving strategy hence always tend to replace physics thinking with mathematical thinking; Physics type tend to be good at combining mathematics and physics ways to solve practical physics problems while showing their lack of the consciousness of using mathematical methods to establish physical models; Physics-Chemist type will usually use reverse thinking and divergent thinking to solve physics problems while showing their disadvantage of the lack of abstract thinking and logical reasoning ability; while Physics-Mathematics type are good at using "equivalent thinking" to think about physics problems and using analogy method to establish physical models.Totally 11 different corresponding teaching strategies are proposed to apply for each of the seven types of thinking tendency of students, including:"to cultivate students’ ability of reading teaching materials", "to focus on image teaching", "to strengthen the teaching of cognition of physics concepts", "to standardize explicit behavior", "questioning questions", "to implement variant training", "to guide students to analyze the rationality after solving a problem", "to focus on the developing of physics students’ visualize thinking", "to pay attention to the cultivation of students’ spatial imagination", "the implementation of question study teaching", "to guide the students into reflection after solving problem and optimize the quality of thinking", all together a total of 11 kinds of teaching strategies. The conclusion that all the seven types of sample students’overall ability of physics thinking can be improved after the implement of the corresponding teaching strategies is drawn based on the analysis of the experimental results of both control groups.
