A Study On Teacher Education Curriculum In The Normal University

In order to understand the curriculum of teacher education in Normal Universities, especially in the west of China, The paper is based on the Normal University in the west region. The study used the survey method to make a survey among 300 students form Grade 2012 to Grade 2013 and 100 undergraduates as the research object about the teachers’ education curriculum, the specific setting and the practical course of the teachers. According to the investigation result, the Normal University has been reforming and achieves good results. But there are some common problems in the curriculum of teachers’ education in Normal Universities. The problems are mainly concentrated on theories, course arrangement, and educational practice. The problems are mainly caused by the National policies, internal and external factors in Normal University and unreasonable courses. Therefore, the following three aspects need to be done. Firstly, the State Education Department needs to improve the academic evaluation mechanism and teacher certification system. Secondly, Normal universities should establish relationships with the local education and establish specialized teacher education management agency. Lastly, rational courses need to be appropriately arranged. The study will be enrich the research on the relevant theory of the educational curriculum and provide some reference for the Normal university. At last it will meet the demands of the reform of basic education.
