Affected by globalization of competition, resource and environment pressure,financial crisis and industrial upgrading, technology and many other factors, domesticenterprises are facing up with the challenge of transforming to technology andknowledge-intensive enterprises. There are mainly three ways of transformation:upgrading, shifting, switching professions. Whatever transformation pattern anenterprise chooses, it will confront lack of technology and knowledge, whichconstitutes the necessity not only to make use of existing technology and knowledgeaccumulated in business before, but also to gain them from outside. What’s more, thetarget industry knowledge required by transformation is gained by knowledge transfer.Since different modes of knowledge transfer have different impacts, the key to thesuccess of enterprise transformation is to obtain a sustainable competitive advantageby choosing the right and effective mode so as to improve its capability of acquiringtarget industry knowledge, digesting and absorbing knowledge that has beentransferred to create new knowledge to the maximum level.This paper first points out the research purpose and significance on the basis ofcurrent research on enterprise transformation and knowledge transfer at home andabroad. Then it defines industry and industrial knowledge, stating industryconcentration, the characters of explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge as parts ofindustrial knowledge, and explains the relationship between industry concentrationand knowledge transfer, and the relationship between explicit knowledge and tacitknowledge and the latter. Then on the basis of enterprise knowledge theory,knowledge transfer theory and common knowledge transfer modes, it summarizes twotypical modes involved in enterprise transformation: transactional knowledge transfermode and cooperative knowledge transfer mode. Then it builds an evolutionary gamemodel of knowledge transfer in enterprise transformation by using evolutionary-gametheory, and gives out relevant solutions. At last, compared with two cases illustratingtransformation and upgrading of railway and automobile industries, it furthe r provesthe rationality of evolutionary-game theory in the selection of knowledge transfermode of enterprise transformation.The results of the paper enrich and improve knowledge transfer theory inenterprise transformation, provide targeted conclusions and guidance on the selection of knowledge transfer mode of enterprise transformation, and help transformingenterprises to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of knowledge transfer.
