As an important index which determines the quality of interpreting tasks, fluency has attracted a lot of concern and discussions from both interpreting training and research community.Based on the author's two field interpreting practices, this paper first reflects upon the disfluency-inducing difficulties encountered during the first interpreting practice. Then it presents some coping tactics as the guidance for the second one, namely pre-task preparation, adequate interpreting training and public speaking training. Then it presents how these tactics have been observed prior to the second task and describes how they have benefited the interpreting process of the second process. The effectiveness of the three tactics are discussed by comparing and analyzing the author's output fluency in the two practices. The report suggests that the proposed three tactics are helpful to the improvement of fluency in interpreting practices. It is hoped that this paper could provide some insights for the interpreters who may encounter the similar problems.
