Abstract/Summary:
The development of teacher vocation is essential to team-building of teachers and the improvement of school education quality. With the rapid development of secondary vocational education, the number of new teachers has largely increased so that it should be taken highly consideration that how to accelerate the development of professional abilities of new teachers so as to transform them from the green hand to the experienced. In order to favorably promote their professional development, it’s necessary to know the puzzlement and obstacles on their way firstly.Through a series of trace investigations and observations, the author found that difficulties prevent new teachers from developing are in various aspects such as consciousness of professional development, teaching, role transformation, induction training, education and teaching studies, and economic assurance. The occurrences of those difficulties should be traced to the bewilderments that exist in the system policy, school management, and teachers themselves these factors.Therefore, the problems can be solved in the following manners based on the factors referred above. Firstly, the government shall provide a guarantee system, including establishing a standard of secondary vocational education for new teachers, and a system for teachers to practice at a temporary post in enterprises. Secondly, schools shall create a favorable environment for teachers’ professional development, which includes setting up instructional departments for professional development, offering opportunities of participating in educational research, providing opportunities to practicing and studying in enterprises, improving the work allocation system, and so on. Lastly, teachers themselves shall actively seek ways to make progress on the development of teacher vocation such as building up an ideal of pursuing the teachers’ professional development, performing self-examination on teaching, and setting up individual career planning.
