Writing teaching is always the focus of Chinese teaching and research.The Chinese teaching material is not only the main carrier of Chinese curriculum,but also an important media of teaching reading and writing.Therefore,it is meaningful to study language teaching material for the actual Chinese teaching.After reviewing of the history of one hundred years of Chinese textbook in our country,we found that the Chinese Hundred Eight Units hold a special place in the history.It focuses on the training of reading and writing,with ‘wen hua' as the core,at the head of the literary selections,grammar and practice questions,form a set of scientific system of writing,giving the Chinese discipline scientific nature and it is of great reference value for writing teaching.Therefore,this paper focus studied the writing system of the Chinese Hundred Eight Units,and investigate the situation of Chinese composition teaching today,and then get corresponding revelations from the Chinese Hundred Eight Units.This paper is divided into three parts:The first chapter mainly discusses the writing system's compiling concept of the Chinese Hundred Eight Units writing,which formed under the influence of Dewey's pragmatism education thought and unique language teaching material view which was Mr Ye Shengtao and Xia Mianzun combined their rich experience in Chinese teaching.The second chapter is the core of this paper,the writing system's content and characteristics of the Chinese Hundred Eight Units are discussed.The content of the Chinese Hundred Eight Units could be selected into "wen hua",literary selections,grammar and practice questions four parts,each part is a small system,but four parts tightly together,formed a big scientific system.It mainly has four characteristics,guided by the scientific and orderly ‘wen hua';combine the writing with reading and improving writing via reading;system of learning the language knowledge such as grammar rhetoric;instant writing training.The third chapter first analyze the results of the research on the status quo of the writing learning and teaching,and then found that the composition of both the students' learning and teachers' teaching still exist some problems,such as students' one-sided understanding of the writing,phase separation of writing teaching and reading teaching,grammar teaching is not respected and composition training be divorced from textbooks and so on.And then combining these difficulties,the author get some implications from the Chinese Hundred Eight Units,namely,to set up correct concept of the article,;combine the writing with reading and improving writing via reading;attach great importance to the grammar knowledge teaching;enrich the forms of writing training.
