Taking the case teaching method as a means and cultivating middle school students’ geographic core accomplishment,the methods of reading literature,questionnaires,interviews,case analysis and other research ways were used to investigate and analyze the problems in the cultivation of middle school students’ geographic core qualities.In view of the problems which arise,on the basis of practice,the role of case teaching method in cultivating the geographical core literacy of middle school students is discussed,and specific explanations are given in the form of examples.This article includes six parts:The first part: On the topic of geographical core literacy,it states research background,research significance,research status at home and abroad,comprehensively discusses geographical core literacy,and proposes research contents,research methods and technical routes.The second part: Explain the definitions,types and characteristics of core qualities and geographical core qualities as well as the definitions of case teaching and geographical case teaching.The third part: On the basis of the research on the geographical core qualities of senior high school students and interviews with teachers,the paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the cultivation of high school students’ geographical core qualities,and analyzes the reasons for their formation.Effectively established the relation between the innovation of teaching methods and the cultivation of geographical core qualities.The fourth part,the author proposes a strategy for how to develop the core literacy of high school students by case teaching,and specifically explains how to choose the case materials,how to use them in teaching,and how to reflect cases after class.The fifth part: Taking concrete content as an example,it discusses how to use case teaching methods to improve students’ geographical core qualities and provide effective teaching methods and strategies for front-line teachers.The sixth Part : Explain that the case method is an effective strategy for cultivating geographical core qualities of students.It points out the inadequacies andprospects for the future.This research result has certain instructions for teachers to improve students’ geographical core qualities in the teaching process.Value and practical guidance.
