As preschool education has enjoyed a vigorous development since 2010, preschool education in towns, villages and even the poorest areas, has been long recognized as the crucial task of government policies which involves large amounts of financial investments. And with six years of hard work, remarkable progress has been made in developing preschool education in rural areas. In fact, the inevitable choice of developing preschool education in rural areas is to achieve the goal that at least one public kindergarten is available to infants in rural areas, in order to make preschool education accessible to all infants there. That is also the important action to maintain educational equity between rural and urban areas. Therefore, central-kindergartens in villages and towns play an important role in guiding and promoting the rapid development of preschool education in these areas. Only if these central-kindergartens take their roles of centeredness, guidance, demonstration and radiation, can they feasibly promote and coordinate the sound development of other public or private kindergartens in rural areas. To be specific, building up central-kindergartens in rural areas requires great efforts from all aspects, including teacher allocation, environment creation, curriculum construction as well as teaching and learning and so forth. Among them, teaching activities should be attached tremendous importance to when building and developing the central-kindergarten system in villages and towns. Besides, how well the teaching activities in central-kindergartens have been conducted can directly affect the speed of kindergartens' development. The thesis writer has luckily participated in the program about "Early Development of Children in Sichuan Province" organized by "Right to Play China" in Yingjing County of Sichuan Province. Two years after this program has been carried out, there exists some new questions:What is the current situation of teaching activities in central-kindergartens in villages and towns? What kinds of achievements have been reached? Which kinds of problems still need to be solved? And what are the deep reasons and factors that cause these problems? Therefore, this study aims at discussing and figuring out the answers to these questions by means of field study. This thesis contains five chapters:Chapter one, "Introduction", introduces the background of this study on the basis of government policies and author's experiences, and then summarizes the theoretical and practical significance of this study based on reviewing relevant literature at home and abroad.Chapter two, "Research Design", presents research objectives, instruments and procedures. Specifically, this study employs the research methods of questionnaire investigation, observation and interviews. And the investigation and research on teacher allocation and teaching activities was conducted in six township central-kindergartens in Yingjing County.Chapter three, "Research Results", firstly discusses business background and working situation of central-kindergarten teachers, and then introduces the status quo of teaching activities in central-kindergartens from aspects of activity design and arrangement, objective establishment, material selection and preparation, implementation of the process, as well as evaluation and reflection.Chapter four, "Discussion and Analysis", reveal the sound development of teaching activities in the central-kindergartens in Yingjing County, two years after this program has been conducted, which include more and more abundant teaching resources, ongoing elevation of teachers' teaching ideas and consistent improvement of teaching activities. Meanwhile, this chapter discusses the existing problems caused by many factors like kindergarten teachers, local governments, kindergarten managers and parents. To be specific, teaching resources should have been made full use of and got well maintained; teaching planning is not standardized and can hardly guides teaching activities; some teachers are lack of preparation for instruction and teaching contents have an excessive tendency towards primary education; teaching process is far from scientific, which involves ineffective interactions between teachers and infants etc..Chapter five, "Research Conclusions and Suggestions", makes a conclusion of this study. To be specific, in terms of teaching activities, central-kindergartens in villages and towns attach much important to material resource investments but some problems still exist in the process of teaching planning and conduction. And in order to solve these problems, this thesis presents some meaningful suggestions to facilitate the further improvement of teaching activities. They are:governments are expected to take their responsibility to develop and expand the group of teachers; kindergartens are expected to give their overall supports; kindergarten teachers are supposed to enhance their professional knowledge autonomously and carry out teaching activities scientifically and so on.
