Interpreting Report On Speeches Given By Leaders In Shanxi Province In The 2017 Shanxi Tourism Development Conference

The author participated the Shanxi tourism development conference held in Jinzhong city from 20 th,Sept.,2017 to 23 th,Sept.,2017 as a consecutive interpreter.This report mainly described the interpreting task of 10 th Yuci District Cultural Tourism Business Forum.Focused on tourism,speeches are successive in occurrence and highly-related in content.The report started with source text and its translation.In the first chapter,the author described background of the interpreting task,and meaning of the task.In the second chapter,the author demonstrated pre-interpreting preparation of the task,including key words list,conference agenda,meeting with foreign guests who needed language services and the person in charge of the conference.Then,last-minute preparation and its corresponding solutions were mentioned.In the third chapter,the author focused on analyzing and discussing difficult cases from four perspectives: paraphrase,simplicity,amplification,conversion as well as cases with disturbance of fluency and the misinterpretation problems.In the fourth chapter,the author received the client evaluation and had self-evaluation.In the fifth chapter,the author reviewed the interpreting task,summarizing gains and self-limitations from the practice.Meanwhile,the author obtained feasible training methods to enhance the interpreting capabilities to cope with thorny issues,looking forward to offering high quality language services in the near future.
