From the pespective of cross-culture communication, this thesis adopts logic method to analysis similarities as well as differences about Chineses and English representative words in plant property semantic field, and then designs relevant teaching strategies.First of all, basing on the definitions of current Chinese and Englsih dictionaies, senses of five pairs of Chinese and English representative words of plant semantic field(?/root,?/flower,?/seed,?/grass,?/stick)are collected.Secondly,Euler diagram is employed to compare the definitions of these five pairs of Chinese and English words in order to find out their relations.By means of analyzing several pairs of representative words in plant property semantic field,a primary conclusion is drawn:because of culture differences,in general situations words in Chinese and words in English does not coincide in senses, which represents on Euler's diagram is that it is very difficult to find an identical relation(two circles totally coincide with each other)to perform the relationship between a pair of Chinese and English words in plant property semantic field. All the relations of the above five pairs of Chinese and English words are intersecting relations.Such a conclusion should be the basic point of view to design teaching strategies of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In the end,on the basis of fully understanding the differences of the senses of Chinese and English representative words of plant semantic field, teaching strategies are designed according to fully understanding of the differences of dictionary definitions:corpus technology, web search engines and software of Chinese dictionaries are used to design vivid and interesting teaching strategies,so as to help students who take Chinese language as second language to understand and grasp senses of the same core words and the cultural meanings behind their senses.
