Under the general background of furthering and deepening the practice of"governing by law",legal research has been vigorously going on over the past decade in our country. With the increase of conflicts between individuals and the government at all levels, categorization of administrative litigations has become increasingly necessary.Compared to the legal practice in the West,we seem to fall behind in this field. The source text, that is,the source text is a thesis for master's degree in law from Zhongshan University, aims to seek help from the legal practice in the developed countries like the US,the UK,France,Germany and Japan, and raises suggestions to the legislature as to the possible categories of administrative litigations.Since it has never been translated into any foreign language, this English version may be of some significance to researchers or those interested in this topic. This report, taking the translation of this thesis as its research project, mainly analyses and explores the possible theories and skills for Chinese-English translation of legal articles. It falls into four parts:Chapter 1,presents a brief introduction of the source text with regard to its origin, features and the significance of the research.Chapter 2 introduces principles and the characteristics of legal translation. In Chapter 3,the author analyzes the problems in the process of translation and offers the translation methods such as substitution, conversion and division by analyzing various cases.Chapter 4 offers a summary of the experience and lessons based on this translation practice, hoping to improve, through the translation of this thesis, the overall skills of translation.
