With the continuous advancement of poverty alleviation work, people increasingly realize that the measurement of a single income dimension cannot accurately identify the poor. Therefore, the academic community has gradually spawned a multidimensional poverty theory, trying to measure from multiple dimensions such as health, education, and housing.Poverty as a way to make up for the lack of a single income dimension. The article first builds a multidimensional poverty index system for children basedon the multidimensional poverty index system, and then uses data from the Chinese Family Tracking Survey Database(CFPS)for three years from 2012 to 2016 to multidimensional poverty for children aged 6-15 The index was calculated and decomposed according to urban and rural areas, regions and provinces. At the same time, the poverty situation of children aged 6-10 and children aged 11-15 was also examined in layers.Secondly,it explores the main factors affecting child poverty from the perspective of urban and rural children's comparison. Finally,in view of the plight of the current poor children,it is pointed out that the focus of poverty reduction work in the future will still be rural and western regions. While striving to improve the construction of rural infrastructure and improve people's living standards,we must also actively promote the reform of the household registration system, break the restrictions of the dual urban-rural system, and continue to narrow the gap between urban and rural children. The main conclusions from the data analysis are as follows:First, the incidence of poverty among rural children is significantly higher than that of urban children, and as the threshold of deprivation increases, most of the indicators show a higher level of deprivation.Among them, the indicators of safe drinking water, sanitation facilities and living conditions are the most obvious;second, the multidimensional poverty levels of children in Sichuan,Guizhou, and Guangxi provinces in the western region have always been at a high level, and some indicators in the eastern and central regions exist Phenomenon of a slight increase;third, the poverty level of children in the education dimension is more serious, and the problem of school dropouts of school-age children is still severe;fourth, children endure serious problems in nutrition indicators and learning guidance, sleep time and information acquisition related to the child 's growth dimension Deprivation of poverty.Fifth, there are differences between children of different ages. The average deprivation share of children aged 11-15 years is relatively high. With the continuous advancement of poverty alleviation work, this article provides a reference for the future development of multi-dimensional anti-poverty policies for children, and has important policy significance.
