As an ancient form of art,drama was once known as the “crown of art” among various types of art.Combining various forms of art such as literature,performance,fine arts,music,dance etc.,it is a comprehensive art during which actors and actresses perform something that can arouse dramatic aesthetic feeling directly facing the audience.Drama teaching in high school Chinese textbooks refers to learning,understanding and appreciating the literature form script,which is actually drama script teaching in reading teaching,namely how to read and appreciate dramatic literature.As a literature text,the script has independent aesthetic value that can break away from dramatic performance,thus it can be published,read,appreciated and researched.In the classification concept of traditional western literary genres,“dramatic literature” is much accounted of as the third literary genre keeping up with “lyric literature” and “narrative literature”.With extremely rich cultural connotation and high artistry,outstanding dramatic works help improve the humanistic quality of middle school students.However,in current Chinese teaching,due to the unique script form,there is certain estrangement between drama and middle school students and its status in high school Chinese teaching is also inconsistent with its artistic value,which is quite awkward.With PEP ed ition textbooks as the example,the whole set of new curriculum standard high school Chinese textbooks only use one unit in compulsory four to make a brief introduction of three famous dramatic works,Snow in Midsummer,The Thunderstorm and Hamlet.As pointed out by Criteria for Chinese Course in High School,the unification of instrumental value and humanism is the basic feature of Chinese course and rich humanistic connotation has a profound influence on students' spiritual domain.While cultivating Chinese accomplishment and giving play to the educational function of Chinese course,it seems particularly important to attach importance to unconscious influence of Chinese course and further cultivation of students' aesthetic ability and exploration capabilities.While drama should give full play to its value in this regard so that students can realize it is a wonderful literary enjoyment to appreciate outstanding drama scripts.With the guidance of relevant theories about drama and high school Chinese teaching,the paper is going to combine the practical situation of high school Chinese teaching to study the teaching methods of dramatic works in high school and come up with new attempts and explorations.The introduction part points out the positive significance of dramatic works in high school Chinese teaching in China,collects domestic educational workers' suggestions and research achievements on drama literature teaching during recent years,emphasizes the practical significance for teachers to adjust drama literature teaching strategies after the new curriculum reform.The first part makes a general introduction of the concept and characteristics of drama,analyzes new requirements put forward by new teaching materials under the new curriculum standard,confirms the stylistic awareness of drama,that is,drama is different from other forms of literature such as novel,poem etc.in its dual attributes of literariness and stage performance,and then determines the specific teaching contents.The second part mainly starts from the questionnaire survey carried out among students and teachers to analyze main problems currently existing in the teaching of high school dramatic works and causes of those problems.To solve problems currently existing in high sc hool drama teaching,the third part explores the implementation of specific teaching methods mainly from two aspects,inquiry teaching and experiential teaching,guides students to transform from text readers to role performers while reading the drama so as to truly achieve the teaching goal of combining reading appreciation and practice.It improves students' literary and artistic accomplishments and enables them to experience the charm of dramatic language and dramas themselves in an all-round way after a series of comprehensive practices such as reading,writing,performing,appreciating etc.
