Professional practice is the characteristic of professional degree postgraduate education,and it is also the core link of full-time master's degree postgraduate education.Its effectiveness is directly related to the quality of full-time professional degree postgraduate education.To improve the quality of professional practice,we must first pay attention to the source problem,that is,the target problem.Based on the goal setting theory,the research on the professional practice of full-time professional master students has positive and practical significance for realizing the training goal of professional degree graduate education.The ideal state of professional practice is to promote the professional socialization of students,but the current professional practice of full-time professional master students in China is not satisfactory,and the current relevant research mainly focuses on the implementation process and quality evaluation,and has not yet begun to pay attention to the target.The importance of professional practice and the motivation of the goal.Therefore,this study attempts to explore the following questions:(1)students' expectations and needs for professional practice goals;(2)what factors are expected to achieve the expected results of professional practice from the perspective of goal setting theory;(3)What is the root cause;(4)How to improve the effectiveness of professional practice by using goal setting theory.In this study,17 full-time master's students from a research university in South China were selected by chain sampling.Through in-depth interviews,their expectations and needs for professional practice and their perceptions and experiences in the process of practice were understood.The influencing factors and reasons of professional practice effectiveness were analyzed from the perspective of goal-setting theory,and the corresponding countermeasures were put forward.Policies and suggestions.This study holds that:First of all,the current professional practice in China is not ideal.The goal has the guiding and stimulating effect on the implementation of professional practice.It is necessary to analyze the reasons for the lack of professional practice in the current perspective from the perspective of goal setting theory;and from the target source,target content and Objective dimension The three dimensions of the target,as well as the two influencing factors of target feedback and self-efficacy,establish an analytical framework for the study of professionalpractice issues.Secondly,through qualitative analysis of interview data,it is found that the differences of goal setting between inside and outside school tutors,the degree of realization of students' self-determined goals,the matching degree of goal clarity,difficulty and students' needs,the guidance of task strategies in the implementation of students' goals,the feedback mode and types of goals,and students' self-efficacy all affect the realization of expected results of professional practice.Finally,according to the research and analysis of the causes and influencing factors of the students' professional practice under the goal setting theory,the author establishes the logical model of the professional practice goal set by the students,and combines the model from the goal of professional practice(target clarity,Corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed in terms of target difficulty,target participation,target intensity,and target feedback.
