In recent years, many population issues have become a hot spot of social concern, such as the accelerated aging of the population and the imbalance of the sex ratio of the population. An important aspect of the population problem is the demographic structure. The demographic structure is inseparable from economic development, and the two influence each other.A reasonable demographic structure is a necessary guarantee for sustained economic development.Studying the impact of demographic changes on economic growth can identify important demographic factors that affect economic growth, adjust population policies, improve population structure, and enable the economy to develop better. On the basis of existing research, the paper discusses the spatial effects between economic units, and uses spatial analysis and spatial measurement theory as the main research methods. The paper takes 31 provinces and cities in China as the research object, analyzes the spatial and temporal evolution of China's population gender structure, age structure, industrial structure, cultural structure, urban and rural structure and unemployment structure from 2000 to 2017,and examines the spatial dependence of economic growth in various provinces and cities in China. The spatial econometric model is used to explore the demographic changes of China's economic growth, and the least square regression analysis is carried out for the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions of China to explore the differences of influencing factors between different regions. The paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, introduces the research background and research significance of the thesis, and sorts out the domestic and foreign literatures on the relationship between population structure and economic growth. The second chapter describes the related concepts and theoretical basis of the population structure.Relevant concepts of population structure include population natural structure, social structure and regional structure.Relevant theories include spatial interaction theory, human capital theory, population migration theory,Petty-Clark theorem and Austrian affirmation law.The third chapter includes the current situation of population structure and the analysis of the spatial and temporal changes of population structure. It discusses the six aspects of population gender structure, age structure, industrial structure, cultural structure, urban and rural structure and unemployment structure. The fourth chapter analyzes the impact of demographic changes on economic growth. It mainly analyzes from two angles: First, the spatial econometric analysis of the impact of demographic changes on economic growth. The study finds that the demographic factors that promote China's economic growth are based on regression coefficients. From the largest to the smallest, the urban population, the working-age population, the tertiary industry employment population and the college education population, the male population has a significant inhibitory effect on economic growth, and the urban registered unemployment rate has no significant impact on economic growth. The second is to conduct a least squares regression analysis on the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions of China to explore the differences in the influencing factors in different regions. The study finds that the same factor affects the economic growth of different regions in large and small directions. In the eastern and western regions, the working-age population has the greatest role in promoting economic growth;in the central region, the urban population has the most obvious effect on economic growth;in the northeast region, the male population has the most obvious effect on economic growth. The fifth chapter is conclusions and policy recommendations.
