Picture books are composed of pictures and words,they are children's books narrated.Studies have found that picture books have important educational value for children's personality development,ability development and emotion development.On the basis of sorting out the development history of the application of picture books for primary schools,this study tries to find out: What is the current situation of the application of picture books for primary schools? Find out the problems in the application of picture books for primary schools?What are the causes of these problems? What are the improvement strategies for the application of picture books for primary schools?First,choose two primary schools such as A and B,through the one-and-a-half month investigation by using interview method,observation method,questionnaire survey method,etc.24 picture books were observed and recorded,such as “Duck On A Bike” and“Library Lion”,and effective filtering in the final recorded results.And seven teachers from primary schools A and B were selected for in-depth interviews.And all teachers were surveyed by questionnaire.By interviewing teachers,observing the teaching process,sorting out teaching cases and sorting out existing literature,this paper makes an in-depth analysis and summary of the current situation of the application of picture books for primary schools,which provides practical support for the follow-up research.The study found that from the choice of picture books and the use of picture books,application of picture books for primary schools have run into difficulties,for example,teachers misinterpret picture books,attach importance to moral education,attach too much importance to subject knowledge,lack of planning and the teaching guidance.The lack of understanding of the application of picture books and the lack of application ability of picture books are the main reasons,which provide a basis for the follow-up research.Based on this,combining with specific cases,this study puts forward Suggestions from three aspects: concept level,school education and external conditions,in order to provide improvement strategies for the use of picture books.First of all,we should attach importance to picture books and correctly view the educational value of picture books;Secondly,to improveteachers' ability to choose and use picture books;Finally,to set up this application system to provide picture books for students.
