Research On The Influence Of Population Aging On Residents' Consumption In Ningxia

As we all know,population aging has become an irreversible trend in the process of world economic and social development.As a country with a large population in the world,China's aging population is becoming more and more.According to statistics,China entered the aging society in 1999.By 2018,the number of people aged 65 and above in China had reached 160 million which account for 11.9 percent of the total population,and the aging degree is still deepening.Although Ningxia entered the aging society later in2015,16 years later than the whole country,its aging has been developing rapidly.By 2018,the proportion of people aged 65 and above in Ningxia had reached 8.9 percent,only 3percentage points lower than the national figure.The deepening of the aging of population will inevitably affect the economic growth of Ningxia.Consumption,as an important part of social reproduction,is the main driving force of Ningxia's economic growth.So,to increase consumption,especially the residents' consumption,is very important for Ningxia's economic growth.However,with the deepening of the aging population,a series of residents' consumption problems caused by the aging population will become one of the difficult problems to the economic and social development and progress.Therefore,it is particularly important and urgent to take Ningxia as the research object to study the population aging problem and focus on the impact of population aging on residents' consumption,so as to make full preparations for the arrival of the population aging peak in Ningxia.On the basis of summarizing previous studies,this paper will analyze the relevant data of population aging and residents' consumption in Ningxia,which is based on the population transition theory and related consumption theory,and summarize the current situation of population aging and residents' consumption in Ningxia.At the same time,the standard consumer model and the grey correlation analysis method are used to carry out an empirical analysis on the consumptionlevel and consumption structure of Ningxia residents.The results show that the per capita income increases has a positive impact on the consumption level of Ningxia residents;The rising elderly proportion has a negative impact on the consumption level,and there is a negative correlation between the aging population and the consumption levelin Ningxia.The elderly population in Ningxia has the highest correlation with the consumption of medical care,education,culture,entertainment and residence,and the lowest correlation with the consumption of clothing and food.The aging of the population in Ningxia will promote the upgrading of the consumption structure to some extent.Finally,based on the results of the study,some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to alleviate the negative effects of aging,improve the consumption level of residents and promote the upgrading of consumption structure.
