This report is based on the translation of Educational Justice(Chapter 7 and Chapter 8).This book mainly focuses on educational justice from the aspects of public schools,citizenship,diversity,inclusion,religious schools,and selection.The translation of Educational Justice aims to help people learn more about educational justice and to provide some references for translation of social science texts.Educational Justice contains a large number of compound long sentences and complex long sentences,which are difficult to understand because of their complex structures,multiple logical levels and numerous modifiers.Therefore,in this report,the translator focused on the translation of compound long sentences and complex long sentences in the source text.The translation of long sentences has always been difficult for translators around the world.Based on the theory of functional equivalence,this report explored the translation strategies of long sentences.The translator first analyzed the structures of long sentences,and then translated them by means of synchronizing,reversing,embedding,splitting,recasting and synthesis respectively on the basis of an accurate understanding of the source text,so as to achieve the most appropriate and most natural equivalence between the target language and the source language.This report is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the translation material and its research background and the significance of this translation report.Chapter 2 presents the process of translation.Chapter 3 introduces long sentences and functional equivalence theory.Chapter 4 is a case study that analyzes the translation strategies of compound long sentences and complex long sentences with different translation strategies under the guidance of functional equivalence theory.Chapter 5 summarizes the major findings and points out the limitations of this report.
