As an indispensable place for cultivating talents,the quality of teaching in colleges and universities determines the quality of talent training.And the teaching ability plays an vital role in influencing the quality of teaching.As an important part of China's higher education,newly-built undergraduate colleges has occupied half of the share.Young teachers,as a new force of undergraduate colleges,have a direct impact on the development of the quality of school education and teaching.Therefore,it has become an essential part of the work of new undergraduate colleges for improving the teaching ability of young teachers.In this paper,175 young teachers from Guizhou Institute of Technology,Guiyang University,Liupanshui Normal University,Kaili University,Guizhou University of Commerce,Qiannan Normal University for Nationalities and Guizhou Education University are surveyed and interviewed.The teaching ability of young teachers is divided into four dimensions: knowledge structure,teaching skills,teaching ethics and personal characteristics.Based on the questionnaire,SPSS19.0 is used to analyze the current situation and influencing factors of teaching ability of young teachers in newly-built undergraduate colleges in Guizhou.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The teaching ability of young teachers in newly-built undergraduate colleges in Guizhou is generally average,and the teaching ability of young teachers differs among different types of newly-built undergraduate colleges;The development of teaching ability is unbalanced in all dimensions,and neglecting the development of any dimension would affect the improvement of the overall teaching level.(2)The problems existing in the teaching ability of young teachers in newly-built undergraduate colleges in Guizhou are mainly reflected in the irrational knowledge structure and the shortage of teaching practice knowledge;the lack of teaching practice experience,the weak teaching research ability;the low sensitivity of teaching ethics;lack of teaching enthusiasm.(3)Analyzing the influencing factors of the teaching ability of newly-built undergraduate colleges in Guizhou and find that in addition to their own characteristics(such as gender,teaching age,subjects taught,etc.),the more important influencing factors on the teaching ability are schools evaluation mechanism teaching and scientific research pressure,and incentive mechanism,On the one hand,the more important reason comes from the school's evaluation mechanism,teaching and scientific research pressure incentive mechanism,on the other hand,from the government's policy system to ensure the investment in teaching funds.Based on the above conclusions,the promotion strategies are proposed from the level of individual teachers,schools and the government:(1)Personal level: active learning,perfect knowledge structure;strengthen teaching research;establish advanced teaching concepts;(2)School level: adopt the four stages of "recruitment-appointment-training-retention" to help young teachers improve the teaching ability;(3)Government level: improve policy and system guarantees;increase support for education and teaching funds.
