With the proposal of the task and requirement of "establishing virtue and cultivating talents" in the new era,the practice of basic education reform in China has a new goal and direction.In 2019,the unified high school textbooks were put into use.With the emergence of new curriculum standards and academic discussion results,the new textbooks have many changes and developments,among which the changes in historical maps are particularly obvious.The historical map of textbook is a unique course material and resource,which is the "textbook" for teachers to guide students to explore,create historical situation and summarize and sublimate emotions.It is the "learning material" for students to cultivate their time and space literacy and exercise their ability to read and use pictures.It is the good interaction between teachers and students and the "material" to create an efficient classroom.Through careful study of the textbook "Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(Part 2)",this paper deeply explores and analyzes the distribution of units,classes and specific classification of historical map in the textbook,and explores its function and value in the textbook and history teaching.Questionnaire survey is used to understand the achievements of teachers and students in the teaching and learning of textbook history map and the areas to be improved.Based on this,some suggestions are put forward to give space for front-line educators to think.This paper mainly consists of four parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the reason,significance,research methods and research status of this topic.The second part is the study of historical maps.Taking The Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(Part 2)as an example,it analyzes the distribution and classification of historical maps,and then expounds the functions of historical maps.The third part is a questionnaire survey,taking part of teachers and students from three schools in Binzhou city as the research object,investigating the practical application of historical map in textbooks in teaching and learning,and analyzing the teaching results and problems.The fourth part is teaching suggestions and cases,according to the current situation,based on the teaching observation and study of textbooks,put forward teaching suggestions;Finally,we select the public demonstration class or teaching design of famous teachers,and explore the value of the application of textbook historical map,in order to help teachers make full use of textbook historical map and truly "educate people".
