The Chinese idioms have always been the focus and one of the difficulties in theprocess of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The reason is that Chinese idiomsare very complex and there are no effective teaching methods in teaching Chinese as aforeign language. Chinese idioms are not simply the combination of the “words”, butalso reflect the essence of ancient Chinese culture and the history of ancient Chinesegrammar, containing the special feelings that people have given to it.This thesis takes the Cognitive Abilities of second language learners, theInter-language Theory and the Intercultural Communication Theory as the theoreticalbasis and used the Comparative Analysis Method, Questionnaire Survey Method andError Analysis Method to compare the idioms of Chinese and Korean. Based on thesimilarities and differences in Korean people’s cognition when they are learningChinese idioms and using it frequently, the Chinese idioms have been divided intousing idioms and understanding idioms, and then according to the correspondencebetween the Chinese and Korean idioms’ forms and meanings, it should be dividedinto anthropomorphism idioms, homographs idioms Alien synonymous idioms,Chinese exclusive idioms, and dislocation corresponding idioms. Depending on theclassification of Chinese idioms, we propose that targeted teaching methods should beused in teaching idioms as an important part of foreign language, especially forKorean learners.
