With the ongoing globalization, the co-operation in education between China and US is strengthening. Aiming at this trend, more and more people begin to research the educational patterns of the two countries so that they can benefit from each other. This research report bases on an interview between the interviewer and Mr.Jordan Dreyer, the foreign teacher at Foreign Language College of Jilin University--on the topic of undergraduate education. The author acted as the consecutive interpreter for this interview and recorded the interpreting process. After the task, she wrote this report according to the transcribed text of the interview, summarized and analyzed problems which occurred during the process and came up with relevant methods according to different strategies to offer guidance for future interpreting practice. This reflective report comprises four chapters. Chapter One provides a brief introduction to the background and the organization of the consecutive interpreting task. Chapter Two is the description about the whole interpreting process from pre-interpreting preparation, the interpreting process and the interpretation assessment. In Chapter Three, the author analyzes different problems that occurred in the interpreting process such as lexical gap, long and difficult sentences interpretation problems and sentence cohesion problems according to specific examples. Then in Chapter Four, she comes up with relevant handling methods based on different interpreting tactics such as adaptation strategy, self-correction, information recombination and so on. Chapter Three and Chapter Four are the key chapters in this thesis with detailed analysis.
